The Seasonal Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on amusement park rides, vehicles, and related equipment while also handling landscaping duties. The role requires mechanical troubleshooting, safety inspections, and physical labor including climbing and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Candidates should possess basic mechanical knowledge, a valid driver’s license, and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks involving the use of hand and landscaping tools.
The Mechanic Technician provides skilled technical services on various ride structures, vehicles, and other components. This position will also include landscaping duties.
Responsibilities:
Performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of amusement park rides and devises. Must also be willing and able to perform and/or assist in other Park repairs and maintenance that is deemed necessary by Supervision.
- Troubleshooting and/or perform general maintenance of mechanical devices and vehicles to assure proper function and safety.
- Working with conveyors.
- Climbing/Inspecting track and structure.
- Pool experience preferred
- Landscape duties(weeds, shrubs, watering, blowing, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of the operational aspects of machinery components.
- · A valid Driver's License and High School Diploma or valid GED.
- · A basic set of hand tools.
- · Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- · Ability to perform various physical activities, such as climbing, crawling, and lifting, from various heights on ride structures.
- · Vocational or technical trade certifications.
- · Demonstrate communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking), and ability to keep accurate written records.
- Must have basic landscape knowledge or be willing to learn
- Establish and maintain a cordial and effective working relationship with fellow employees
- Must be able to handle frequent kneeling, bending, digging, squatting, pulling, etc.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must be able to use a shovel, pick axe, planting bar, rake, and other landscape equipment
- Must be able to tolerate natural elements (heat, sun, wind, rain) for extended periods of time
