Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts for 36 hours per week only
• 13-26 week assignment accepted
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity
• Weekend requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
• Float requirement: will follow unit rotation - not first to float
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience required
• Travel experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, Post MI care, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Cardiac drip management and titration, Chest tube management, External CPAP/BIPAP, Non-invasive airway management
• Preferred skills: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Charge Experience
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required
• Work with equipment including Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires
• Use EPIC documentation system and Pyxis medication system
• May be required to work Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually

Facility:

This regional medical center operates a comprehensive cardiac telemetry unit specializing in post-cardiac surgery care with 44 beds and a daily census of 41 patients. The facility provides advanced cardiac and vascular services including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR procedures, and complex cardiac interventions. The unit offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and specialized cardiac care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
