Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III or higher NICU night shift position in Illinois requiring EPIC and Trauma 1 experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Level III or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting
- Primary patient population includes critically ill neonates
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Use EPIC electronic medical record system; prior EPIC experience is required
- No local candidates allowed within a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and document care for neonatal patients
- Monitor intake and output of assigned neonates and assist with breastfeeding and baby-friendly care
- Administer medications using bar code scanning protocol
- Report on patients during multidisciplinary rounds
- Team-oriented work environment with regular communication and peer collaboration
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Time off not to exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not work more than 1 year continuously and must take a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
- Current Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Minimum 3-5 years of NICU nursing experience in Level III or higher units
- Trauma 1 experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association
- Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in EPIC charting
