Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Leonardtown, Maryland 20650 (Southern Maryland nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel RN contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,590 – $1,710
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (Adult only)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Maryland or Compact RN license (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or acute care setting
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required for all RN jobs)
• Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (minimum 80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Two supervisor references required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Ability to float to other nursing units within your clinical skillset
• First-time travel nurses and experienced travel RNs are welcome to apply!

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses (diabetes, CHF, infection, sepsis, COPD, post-surgical care, and more)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Perform clinical procedures: IV starts, central/PICC line care, wound care, chest tube management, feeding tube care, and surgical drain management
• Support orthopedic, colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgery programs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.)
• Float to other nursing units as needed within your skillset
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to hospital policies
• Participate in self-scheduling and provide required weekend coverage
