The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia care for a variety of surgical cases including general, orthopedic, vascular, and ENT procedures in an inpatient operating room setting. They prepare anesthesia equipment, perform spinals for certain surgeries, and work under the supervision of anesthesiologists. The role involves managing multiple cases daily with flexible shift options and utilizing EMR systems like Cerner.

- Start Date: January - ongoing
- Setting: Inpatient
- Patient Volume: 20-25 surgical cases/daily (80% General, 5% OB, 5% complex vascular, 10% complex ortho). This caseload is for the entire OR. Typical OR day would be anywhere between 2-5 cases per room, with the exception of the ENT room which can have more cases. Endo days average 10-15 patients/day on the busiest days.
- Job Details:
- Preference is 5 8hr shifts per week (7a-3p). Their second preference would be 4 10hr shifts per week (7a-5p).
- Case mix: General Adult, Spine, ENT, GYN, URO, Vascular, Ortho and routine surgeries. CRNAs are responsible for preparing the anesthesia cart.
- Their Anesthesiologist do all nerve blocks. The CRNAs do their own Spinals for of their Ortho Cases (Total Joints, Scopes, Shoulders etc). Spine is more straight forward cases like ACDFs and Lumbars (some do have nerve monitoring). They don't do complicated cases (like thoracic/big anterior approaches).
- Supervision Model (5 Anesthesiologist). There are (11) FT CRNAs and (6) PRN CRNAs
