Job Details:
• Work in Neuro ICU with 1:2 patient ratios
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• 1.5 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED for admitted patients, or PACU for admitted patients
• Must be comfortable with EVD insertions, neuro post-op care, A-line insertions, intubation, central line insertion, CRRT, post-TPA care, and post-thrombectomy care
• Care for patients with TBI, SAH, SDH, tumor resections, status epilepticus, and other neurologic disorders
• Skills required: ICP monitoring, ventilator management, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia management, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
• 24-hour orientation provided
• Black scrubs required
• Charting system: Cerner
• No locals within 75 miles accepted
• Pending license accepted
• Overtime must be pre-approved and is rarely granted
• Block schedule accommodation possible but not guaranteed
• Possibility of switching to CTICU with new tower opening
