Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least two years of MS/Tele experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital
- Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
- Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating between similar units may be required
- Epic EMR system is used; experience with Epic is preferred
- Provide nursing care to adults on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a fast-paced teaching and trauma environment
- Royal blue and white scrubs are required
- Return staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Limit of 2 contracts before a six-month break is required to return
- Holiday coverage may be required based on the schedule
- RTO requests subject to manager approval
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
