Per-diem Registered Nurse in a nursing float pool providing professional bedside care across units, performing assessments, administering medications and treatments, documenting patient status, and educating patients and families. Requires RN licensure, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, at least 2 years' RN experience, and ability to manage complex physical and psychosocial patient needs following ANA standards. Night-shift (7PM–7AM) position with variable assignment to support staffing needs across departments.

Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.

Responsibilities:
- Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
- Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
- Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Louisiana State RN License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS provider certification required.
- PALS certification required.
