Emergency Medicine Physicians provide critical care in a Level III Trauma designated hospital with 66 staffed beds and an ED volume of 15,000 annually. Responsibilities include managing airways, performing conscious sedation, central lines, and chest tubes, as well as attending to floor codes and coordinating with specialist consults and transfers. The role requires board certification in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice with relevant experience and an active Kansas medical license.

- Back Up: General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Hospital Medicine Program (on call at nights), Cardiology (They keep STEMIs), Pulmonology, Neurology - consults with higher level hospital, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Limited ENT, Limited Urology, General Surgery, Tele ICU Support (keep critically ill patients)
- No GI, No Nephrology
- Transfers: Level I Trauma: Freeman or Mercy in Joplin, MO; Critically Ill Pediatrics: Children's Mercy (Kansas City); Burns: Kansas University or Cox Medical Center in Springfield
Requirements:
- BE/BC Emergency Medicine (ABEM, ABOEM), BC FP with experience
- Credentialing Timeline: 90 days
- Active KS license
