American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position in a Clinical Decision/Observation Unit, requiring 18 months of recent tele or acute care experience and active BLS and ACLS certification.
Responsibilities- Work in an Observation Unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Patient population includes those under observation with a range of acuity in a Clinical Decision Unit
- Night shifts, working 3x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- Floating required to three nearby hospital locations within a 20-mile radius, within scope of practice
- Unit uses Epic for charting; prior experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Responsible for monitoring and caring for patients in an observation/clinical decision environment
- Time-sensitive pre-employment modules must be completed before starting
- White scrubs are required while on duty
- PBDS assessment is waived for this assignment
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- All requested time off must be submitted up front; additional time off is unlikely to be approved
- Pre-employment BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract
- Free parking is available in unrestricted spaces at the facility
- Candidates previously employed on a permanent or per diem basis must wait at least 1 year from their last end date before returning
- Current FL or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 18 months recent tele or acute care RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be active
- NIHSS must be obtained prior to start if not already held
- Must complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation with a passing score
- Two references from a recent manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in tele/acute care (from the past 12 months)
- Additional documentation required: copy of Driver's License and Social Security Number
