Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with at least 3 years of prior ICU experience and an active AZ or compact RN license for a rural hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Position is based in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital
- Provides nursing care to critically ill patients in a 5-bed ICU
- All shifts available
- May float to ED, Med/Surg, or Peds during low census periods
- Cares for individuals of all ages including post-op general surgery, pediatric, and OB patients after hours
- Position requires independent nursing care and strong clinical judgment in a rural setting
- Shared contractor housing may be available but is not guaranteed; housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start
- No pets or family are allowed in provided housing
- Team includes diverse providers and support staff
- Orientation is provided every two weeks
- Culturally diverse community environment
- Must be comfortable working in a remote, rural healthcare setting
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact state RN license in hand
- Minimum of 3 years prior ICU experience required
- Associate Degree in Nursing or higher
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (may be obtained within 6 months of hire), NIHSS (within 6 months), and TCAR (within 6 months)
- Must complete facility-specific fingerprinting prior to start
- COVID and flu vaccination required unless exemption form is accepted
