3N MICU RN *Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
# Beds: 16 - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 higher acuity pts - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Respiratory, Stroke, neuro, GI, cardiac, etc. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years ICU experience + 1 year travel experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes, many. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: All ICU drips, propofol, precedex, vaspopressors, etc. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: No. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: 1 for the unit to support nursing staff. - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Two pulmonologists for attendings, each with a team of residents during the day. One team on at night. - RT in ICU 24/7: Yes. - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Any and all including Vents, BiPAP/CPAP, vapotherm, trachs, nitric. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? Yes. Each RN reads their patient's strips and must be proficient in rhythm interpretation
