American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with Level I trauma and MI RN license for a night shift position in a high-acuity emergency department.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
- Predominantly adult and pediatric emergency patient populations
- High patient ratios, typically 1:5-6 and may rise to 1:8 during peak volume and holidays
- Night shifts (4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
- Required to work three weekends (Friday-Sunday) per four-week schedule
- Possible floating to pediatric ER
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR, with experience preferred but will provide orientation training
- Responsibilities include emergency nursing care, triage, and procedural sedation
- Candidates must acknowledge and be comfortable with higher patient ratios during peak times
- Must be willing to work two of three major holidays (Thanksgiving or day after, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve or New Year’s Day), with the option to request one holiday off
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Applicants who have previously been employed as core staff must wait 12 months before returning
- Proof of high school level education is required
- All requested time off (up to 5 days) must be submitted at the time of application, and additional RTO cannot be approved later
- Active Michigan RN license required by start date
- Minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience, including Level I trauma experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS by AHA, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
- ENPC certification preferred
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
