Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact license, with BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
- Epic EMR is used for charting
- Night shift position with a 4x12 hour schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope and between like units may be required
- No on-call requirements
- Locals within 50 miles are not eligible
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Return staff must have a one-year gap before applying as a traveler
- A maximum of two consecutive contracts is permitted, after which a six-month break is required
- RTO requests are subject to manager discretion
- Royal blue and white scrubs are required
- Holiday coverage may be expected based on the unit’s needs
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Prior short-term acute care hospital experience preferred
- Pending license applications are not accepted
