American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry Observation Unit position with night shifts and acute care experience requirements.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care MedSurg/Telemetry Observation unit with 10 beds
- Night shifts are 12 hours in length
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, adjusted for acuity and including occasional pediatric patients
- Unit equipped for telemetry monitoring on all beds
- Expected to float to all MedSurg units and ICU for MedSurg overflow
- Uses the Allscripts-Sunrise EMR system
- Support includes tele techs, charge nurse, health unit coordinators, and patient care techs
- Trauma Level 3 setting
- Primary duties include caring for adult and pediatric patients requiring MedSurg or telemetry observation
- Expected to wear any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided
- Nurse managers perform rounds but do not provide direct patient care
- Must be willing to provide coverage on holidays as needed
- Active RN license required
- Current certifications in ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years experience in MedSurg acute care required
- Experience with pediatric patients preferred
- Experience with Allscripts-Sunrise EMR preferred
- PALS certification preferred
