LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Hilo, Hawaii.
Job Description & Requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care across multiple units including Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular Unit
- Float between units as needed to cover staffing gaps
- Utilize clinical equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients’ conditions, following hospital policies and procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide quality care
- Participate in orientation and unit-specific training prior to start
Required Qualifications
- Hawaii RN License (must be active at start of assignment)
- Experience: 2–10 years in adult med-surg, step-down, or related areas
- Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Preferred: PALS, TNCC, ENPC, Procedural Sedation
Unit & Facility Details
- Medical Unit: 77 beds | Nurse-to-patient ratio 1:6 days/evenings, 1:8 nights
- Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute): 18 beds | Ratio 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds | Ratio 1:4
- EMR: Epic
- Dress Code: Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs)
Scheduling & Call Requirements
- Orientation: Scheduled per unit
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- On-Call: Pager and call-back requirements as needed
Additional Information
- Candidates must arrive Thursday before start date for employee health appointment on Friday
- No guarantee of hours; facility may adjust schedules as needed
- Housing and airfare fluctuate by season (research recommended before submission)
- Professional, flexible attitude required to work in multiple units as needed

Start Date: March 2, 2026 | Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Overview:
Join Hilo Medical Center as a flexible RN on the Night Shift Flex Pool. You will float between Medical, Surgical (Laulima), and Cardiovascular units, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Requirements:
- Active Hawaii RN License by start date
- 2–10 years nursing experience (Med-Surg, Step-Down preferred)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (Preferred: PALS, TNCC, ENPC, Procedural Sedation)
