This role is for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist specializing in therapeutic radiological physics within a Radiation Oncology Department. The position involves ensuring equipment safety, performing quality assurance on radiation treatments and machinery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in training. Candidates must have advanced degrees in Radiology or Radiological Sciences and be certified or eligible for certification and licensure as a Radiation Therapy Physicist in Iowa.
The nationally accredited cancer care program at a leading Cancer Care Institute in Davenport, IA is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Physicist. This role offers an opportunity to provide team-based collaborative care and innovative treatment in a supportive clinic setting.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department.
- Ensure equipment safety and quality patient care in compliance with regulatory agencies and medical community standards.
- Participate in teaching and training within the department.
- Conduct patient-specific QA, chart QA, linear accelerator QA, and plan checks.
- Participate in treatment procedures alongside Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
- Work closely with the Chief of Physics on calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators.
- Implement new technologies and maintain a high standard of quality assurance.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
- US Board Eligible or Board Certified by American Board of Radiology (ABR) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
- Registered or willing to become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist.
- Clean malpractice history.
- MS or PhD in Radiology/Radiological Sciences - Required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Therapeutic Medical Physics - Required
- Must be US Board Eligible or Board Certified - Required
- Iowa Radiation Therapy Physicist registration - Required
- IA license (or willingness to obtain) - Required
