This position is for a board-certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to provide outpatient care on a Northern California Indian Reservation. The role involves diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, performing physical exams, and collaborating with other healthcare providers. The job supports rural and underserved populations, with travel, housing, and malpractice coverage provided.
Locums FM or IM Physician - Northern California (Indian Reservation)
Population: 3,494 with 80.5% identified as American Indian, including Yurok, Karuk, Tolowa, Chilula and Whilkut.
The Hoopa Valley is known for its beauty, great recreation, and mild climate for various outdoor activities and proximity to the coast for beach activities.
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8am 5pm
Outpatient: 15-20pts/day
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations for adults
- Participate in quality improvement/patient safety projects
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
Candidates must be:
- Committed to rural, Tribal, and underserved healthcare
- Compassionate, mission-driven social medicine practitioners
- Board-certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Any active state license
