The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders under clinical supervision. They develop and implement treatment plans, assess treatment outcomes, and collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care. This role requires a master's degree, state licensure, and experience with specialized therapies in a hospital setting.
Under the direction of the Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Leader, the staff Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, establishes goals, plans treatment, performs treatment, assesses treatment effectiveness, and makes discharge recommendations. In addition, the staff Speech-Language Pathologist promotes communication of patient care information among team members.
Minimum Education

- Masters Degree in Speech-Language pathology; graduate of an accredited program.
Minimum Work Experience
- Experience in hospital setting preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current state licensure.
- ASHA Certified or pursuing Clinical Fellowship/Vermont State Licensure, effective 2005.
- Risk Category 1.
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- Proficient with evaluation and treatments of a wide range of communicative, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Including ability to complete swallow function studies.
- Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payor requirements.
- Training in voice evaluation and treatment (including pre and post op laryngectomies).
- Training in Lee Silverman Voice therapy (preferred).
- Training in Vital Stim therapy (preferred).
- Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
Pay Range = $40.66 - $60.09
