GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is at our AHMG Breast Surgery Clinic at Littleton CO

Provides education and support for patients and staff involved in the care of patients. Demonstrates a collaborati ve, interdisciplinary approach in directing efforts toward the attainment of desired patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner in area of specialty. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values. Expedite and coordinate patient evaluation and care.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 50% inpatient rounding/OR support (surgical assist certified strongly preferred)/ 50% clinic support (postop eval and pre-chemo toxicity and clearance)
• Performs triage of patients on the floor, in ER, or calling from home and helps to coordinate appropriate response and attending/on-call physician involvement
• Prescribes pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacological therapies according to standard protocol
• Provides symptom management for side effects related to oncologic treatment and surgery.
• Provides consultation to nursing, medical, case management and ancillary departments as requested for inpatients and outpatients
• Optimizes preop workflows and ensures patients prepared for surgery
• Coordinates with attending physicians to communicate results to patients (radiographic, laboratory, and pathologic) in a timely manner as well as coordinating requisite follow up as needed

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES.

• Evaluates and analyzes patient progress and responses to disease and treatment, initiates therapeutic inter vention, and determines clinical effectiveness of treatment plan, and alters the plan if necessary.
• Educates patients and their families regarding examination findings, abnormal laboratory results, treatmentp Ian, and appropriate follow-up and implications for health and recovery.
• Develops/implements/evaluates appropriate materials to facilitate the education of patients/families.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Master's degree in nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Master's Degree (Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program)
• Certification by C.P.P.A
• Experience in Gynecologic Oncology Preferred
• NEW GRADs accepted

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: • PA- Active state Physician Assistant License

• APN - Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
• Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or
• Active RN License
• Active BLS
• Active ACLS
• RXN I RXN-P-Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.
