Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a LA or compact RN license and at least two years of multi-specialty OR experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a multi-specialty Operating Room at a Level II Trauma Center
- Patient population includes ortho, cardiothoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic procedures
- Day shifts (5x8 hours), 6:15 am to 2:45 pm
- Weekend call and 3-4 call shifts required per 4 week schedule
- Work on holidays as needed, especially during Mardi Gras
- Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience preferred
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Role includes circulating, patient assessment, and coordination with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment and adhere to AORN standards and hospital policies
- Collaboration in a fast-paced surgical environment is essential
- Strict RTO policy, especially for Mardi Gras (minimize requests between 2/13 and 2/22)
- Must live outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for travel assignment
- Former permanent employees at any LCMC facility must have a 1-year separation before being considered
Requirements
- Active LA or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a multi-specialty Operating Room setting
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
