We are looking for a Board-Certified General Surgeon for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in southern California, near Santa Monica . This position offers a mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical care, with a focus on providing high-quality services to patients in a scenic coastal area. Position Details: Location: Near Santa Monica, California Start Date: January 1, 2025 End Date: Ongoing Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours with call coverage Shift Details: Monday through Friday (8 AM to 5 PM), with night and weekend beeper call On-Call Requirements: Beeper call, usually one call per day; rarely requires a physical visit to the facility Specialty Focus: General Surgery with a focus on Oncology Breast Surgery Surgeries required: Lumpectomy, mastectomies (including nipple-sparing mastectomy), sentinel node biopsy, and axillary dissection Experience: Providers must have extensive experience in breast surgery and be comfortable handling both high-risk and benign breast disease Key Responsibilities: Provide inpatient and outpatient surgical care Perform a variety of general surgery procedures, with a strong focus on breast oncology Collaborate in joint oncoplastic surgeries as needed Handle both scheduled and emergency surgical cases Required Certifications: Board Certification in General Surgery BLS certification California State Medical License (or eligibility) Additional Information: EMR System: Epic Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days No travel reimbursement for licensing or credentialing Fellowship in breast surgery preferred, but general surgeons with extensive breast surgery experience will also be considered This is a great opportunity for a general surgeon seeking a long-term locum assignment in a beautiful and desirable location near Santa Monica, California.
