Locum Tenens Hospitalist Opportunity - Near Zanesville, OH
We are seeking an experienced and board-certified Hospitalist for a locum tenens position near Zanesville, OH. This role involves providing care in a hospital setting with a focus on night shifts, although some day shifts are available. The ideal candidate will be flexible and open to working at two different sites. The hospital provides specialty coverage and is supported by a skilled team of healthcare professionals, offering a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.
Position Details:
- Specialty: Hospitalist
- Shift Type: Nights (7 on / 7 off), some day shifts available
- Shift Hours:
- Night shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Day shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (limited availability)
- Weekend Requirements: Yes
- On Call Requirements: None
Patient Volume & Responsibilities:
- Daily Census: 31.6 patients
- Nightly Admissions: 5-6 on average
- Physician Shifts:
- 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (2 physicians)
- 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (1 physician)
- APP Shifts:
- ICU Beds: 12 beds
Required Skills & Procedures:
- Intubation: Required, with assistance from Respiratory Therapists who are currently being trained to intubate all patients
- Central Line Insertions: Frequently required
- Ventilator Management: Required
- Preferred Procedures: Chest tubes, lumbar punctures
Specialty Coverage:
- Pulmonology: Available Monday through Friday, with availability for evening and weekend calls
- Other Specialties: Surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, podiatry, ophthalmology, interventional radiology (paracentesis, thoracentesis, bone marrow, ports), PICC line nurse
Facility Information:
Requirements:
- Board Certification: ABMS/AOA in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, or double boarded with ABPS
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of recent hospitalist experience
- Procedural Logs: Must provide logs from the last 12 months, reflecting central lines, intubations, and ventilator management
- State License: Ohio license required (IMLC not accepted)
- COVID Vaccination: Required
