Counselor (Delaware County Jail) Requirements

    Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in human services or behavioral healthcare field with two (2) years counseling experience in the field of substance abuse, mental health required.Valid State of Ohio licensure LSW, LPC, LISW, LPCC required.

Part-time salary range LISW/LPCC = $31,000-$35,000Full-time salary range LSW/LPC = $52,000-$55,000Full-time salary range LISW/LPCC = $62,000-$70,000

Counselor (Delaware County Jail) Job Description


Unique opportunity to join Maryhaven, Central Ohio’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral services provider specializing in addiction recovery. We are looking for skilled, talented, and compassionate people to join our team! We remain driven by our value of excellence in quality care for all and fostering a culture that embraces dignity of all. The Counselor will provide mental health services to individuals incarcerated in the Delaware County Jail. Services will include but are not limited to mental health assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and case management. Additional responsibilities include being responsible for creating, safeguarding, and maintaining documentation necessary for professional services, ensuring documentation accurately reflects client progress and services provided and properly note any amendments. The Counselor will also provide assessment and diagnosis to individuals, including assessing clients' mental health status, history, behaviors, and emotions, to accurately identify any mental health issues and develop appropriate treatment plans. Participation in weekly group supervision and participation in other mandatory Maryhaven trainings will also be required.

    This position is onsite at the Delaware County jail. This position can be for two part-time people OR one full-time person:
      Part-time offering:
        One therapist would work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9 am – 5pm.The other therapist would work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9 am – 5 pm.
      Full-time offering:
        Monday-Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
    Some coverage of other shifts may be requested. 


Compensation details: 26000-70000 Yearly Salary
