How you’ll make an impact in this role
Lead comprehensive forensic examinations with a trauma-informed approach, ensuring patients receive compassionate care while meticulously preserving the integrity of physical evidence.
Document the patient’s journey by capturing accurate medical histories and forensic findings that serve as a vital bridge between healthcare and the justice system.
Advocate for patient recovery by administering prophylactic treatments and coordinating essential referrals to ensure long-term psychological and physical support.
Serve as a clinical expert for the community and legal system, providing clear communication to families and offering professional testimony to ensure the patient's voice is heard in court.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
- Certification specializing in Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner preferred.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training SANE-A within 12 months and completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner training SANE-P within 16 months, if applicable.
What additional preferences we're seeking
Clinical Expertise: A minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience preferred.
