The Special Education Teacher provides tailored instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, focusing on English and Social Science subjects. They coordinate special education services, oversee IEP implementation, and serve as the LEA Representative to ensure compliance with education regulations. This role involves collaboration with staff and families to foster academic growth and continuous improvement within a mission-driven school community.

Some Responsibilities for our Special Education Teacher:
- Guide and support staff in understanding and implementing special education policies while coordinating key services, including caseloads, schedules, transportation, and state assessments.
- Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) Representative on all IEP Teams, ensuring each student’s needs and goals are fully represented.
- Maintain continuous improvement of IEP policies, uphold accurate student records, track transitions, and ensure full compliance with all DPI requirements and timelines.
- Provide the tools, training, and support that enable teachers and staff to implement IEPs with fidelity and care, aligned with IDEA principles.
- Teach core subjects with a focus on English and Social Science, supporting both academic growth and individualized learning needs.
Qualifications for our Special Education Teacher:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) with a valid Special Education Certification.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in developing and implementing IEPs that support each student’s unique potential.
- Background in English and Social Science is strongly preferred for instructional versatility.
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License and meet insurance eligibility requirements.
- Must pass all background checks for a Community Care Licensed facility, including physical, TB test, and drug screening.
