Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily management of the main kitchen staff, ensuring quality controls are being adhered to
- Work with Chef de Cuisine in scheduling, hiring, and training team members
- Strong kitchen and leadership skills with a proven ability to coach and develop staff
- Planning for special events and holiday parties
- Prompt communication skills regarding maintenance and mechanical issues
- Supervising team to ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards
- React quickly and effectively to unplanned operational needs, while remaining calm under pressure
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a deadline-driven, demanding environment
Executive Sous Chef Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years ina managerial capacity as a sous chef, CdC, or EC in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably with a pedigree from Michelin Star or James Beard-level execution
- Expert skill set in international cuisine and technique
- Proven track record of creating dishes and menus with team collaboration
- Confident culinary techniques and skills with the drive for excellence under pressure
- Good sense of planning and preparation
- Diligent and meticulous in placing and receiving orders while controlling costs
- Ability to problem solve and react quickly to any issues which arise during a shift
