Title: Physical Therapist (PT) – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour (08:00 – 16:30) | Monday–Friday

Job Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to patients in an acute care hospital and outpatient clinic setting

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including pain assessment, strength testing, ROM (AROM/AAROM/PROM), skin integrity, and functional mobility

• Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care with short- and long-term goals

• Deliver therapeutic interventions including gait training, extremity and spinal mobilization, and post-operative rehabilitation

• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, injury prevention, and proper use of assistive devices

• Assess environmental barriers and recommend adaptive strategies for safe mobility

• Complete accurate documentation including evaluations, reassessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries

• Manage time efficiently while maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio

• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Float to other therapy areas as needed

Patient Conditions & Treatment Focus

• Orthopedics: Low back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, DDD/DJD, frozen shoulder, cervicalgia

• Post-Operative Care: Total hip and knee replacements, shoulder repair, spinal and cervical surgeries

• Injuries: Hip and knee injuries, ankle sprains, fractures, gait and balance deficits

• Spine & Mobility: Spinal conditions, spinal mobilization, extremity mobilization, gait training

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of recent physical therapy experience

• Outpatient and/or acute care experience required

• Strong orthopedic and post-operative rehabilitation skills

• Experience managing 1:1 patient treatments

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment

• Epic charting experience preferred

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Physical Therapist (PT) License – State of Wisconsin or Compact (required in hand prior to start)

• BLS – Basic Life Support (active)
