Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician
Location: Whiteriver Indian Hospital, Whiteriver, AZ
Schedule: 12 hours shifts include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Duration: Base + Four (4) One-Year Option Periods
Contract Type: 1099 or W-2
Facility: Indian Health Service Whiteriver Service Unit
Qualifications:
- Completed Emergency Medicine residency (board certified/eligible)
- OR Family/Internal Medicine residency with 1.5+ years of ED experience
- Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, or territory
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS
Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care for adult and pediatric patients, including complex and critical cases
- Perform patient assessment, diagnostics, stabilization, and treatment
- Admit and manage inpatients overnight (17 00)
- Respond to all "Code Blue" pages across the WRSU campus
- Provide guidance to mid-level ED providers during shifts
- Coordinate patient transfers and referrals, complete necessary documentation for Contract Health Services
- Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation per hospital standards
- Comply with CMS, EMTALA, and Joint Commission requirements
