American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department role in a trauma level II setting with strict licensure and experience requirements.
Responsibilities- Work in an 18-bed trauma level II Emergency Department
- Patient population includes trauma, stroke, cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory cases
- Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 3-4:1
- Uses Epic for charting and Pyxis medication dispenser
- 12-hour variable shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
- May float to other emergency departments as needed
- On-call required for 12 hours during a 6-week period, with 30-minute response time
- RNs are expected to function independently and manage a diverse caseload efficiently
- Team includes in-house respiratory therapists and on-site x-ray staff
- Scrub color is flexible with any color acceptable
- During flu season, mask-wearing is mandatory for those declining flu and COVID vaccines
- Holiday and call back expectations apply according to schedule
- Not all hours are guaranteed during orientation week or when the unit is closed during holidays
- Active WI or compact RN license
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS
- Minimum of 5 years RN experience and at least one year of travel nursing experience required
- Trauma level II experience required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Ability to draw labs and perform nebulizer treatments
- Must be able to manage a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
