Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (4x12s available upon request)
• Weekend requirement: May be every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract (no Christmas time off)
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 (goal ratio is 4:1, mostly 5:1)
• Float within skillset to other PCUs and potentially medical-surgical units
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Experience required in telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Administer cardiac drips without titration (Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine/dobutamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, Lasix)
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Competency in chest tubes, trach care, PICC line management
• Respiratory skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, CPAP, BiPAP
• Care for acutely and chronically ill adults with complex medical diagnoses
• Remote telemetry monitoring with tele-sitting support
• May work without CNA support at times
• 32 hours of orientation provided
