Airport Information - Albuquerque International Sunport This airport is the closest major airport to Chinle and is approximately a four-hour drive through Arizona's natural beauty. The Facility - Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) The Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility is based in Chinle, Arizona (Northeast Arizona near Canyon De Chelly National Monument). The CCHCF is a 60-bed hospital which serves as the health care hub for the region. The medical staff includes Family Physicians, Internists, Pediatricians, General Surgeons, OB/GYN's, Anesthesiologists, and a Psychiatrist. In addition to routine outpatient and inpatient primary care, services available to our patients include Adult Intensive Care, General Surgery (including laparoscopic surgery), routine and operative Obstetrics, and 24-Hour Emergency Room Services. Strong Navajo cultural traditions exist within the community, offering an opportunity to learn the Navajo language, or to learn about traditional Navajo medicine. Facility Address: U.S. 191 & Hospital Drive, Chinle, AZ 86503 RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) Diagnose and treat medical and surgical disorders using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care. General surgeon is responsible for initial evaluation and overall workups, history & physicals, and admission of general surgery patients as needed. Clinical duties include but are not limited to: Operating Room (experience in wide variety of standard general surgical procedures and operations), inpatient rounds, Emergency Room and Outpatient Clinics. The general surgeon will be able to perform a wide variety of general surgical procedures. Participate in general surgery night call and perform emergency general surgical procedures. Provide patients with education concerning their disease state and treatment regimen. Complete all electronic, clinical, daily charting and documentation required by the Medical Center in a timely manner as appropriate, including outcomes reporting as appropriate. Consult with Medical Center staff on many patient care issues. REQUIREMENTS Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. BE or BC in General Surgery, and minimum of 5 years of post-general surgery training experience.
