RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 36 or 48 hours per week on a medical surgical telemetry unit
• Care for patients with 5-6 patient ratio experience
• Provide care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Work with daily census of 35 patients across 38 beds
• Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday)
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• 2 years of experience in medical surgical telemetry required
• Travel experience preferred
• Must be at least 150 miles from facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Extensive skills required including cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, and wound care
• Experience needed with accessing/managing ports, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and post-cardiac procedures
• Charting system experience required (Altera experience preferred)
• Must complete mandatory drug screen upon arrival (includes marijuana testing)
• Lab items must be completed within 72 hours of accepting offer
• Hard document due date: Thursday 2pm CST prior to start
• Non-billable modules completed during orientation (6-8 hours average)
