Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Unit night position caring for both adult and pediatric patients, requiring AZ or compact license and flexibility with shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 20-bed medical surgical unit caring for adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients
- Staffing ratios are typically 4:1, maximum 5:1 for non-COVID patients and 2:1, maximum 3:1 for COVID patients
- 12-hour night shifts with a schedule alternating between 36 hours and 48 hours per week, plus up to 1 on-call shift per week
- Must be flexible and open to working day shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- May be assigned to assist with Flu Immunization clinics in addition to inpatient care
- Floating to other departments may be required based on qualifications and competency
- Expected to attend staff meetings as scheduled
- Orientation is held on Mondays only; compliance with deadlines is necessary to avoid delay
- Occasional task-oriented floating may include answering call lights or phones
- Maximum of two shift call offs allowed per contract
- No COVID-19 vaccine requirement specified
Requirements
- Active AZ or compact RN license
- Minimum three years of med-surg experience required
- At least one year of pediatric experience required
- Certifications required: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients
