Job Description:

• Availability: 14 days/month
• Call Coverage: 24-hour call coverage for Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Emergency Room (ER) departments
• Staff Support: Registered Nurses (RNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), no midwives
• Daily Shift Requirements: 24-hour ER call coverage
• Special Certifications or Requirements: OB call coverage for the facility. Preference given to providers with an Indiana license already in place.
• On-Call Location: Can be done from a nearby hotel. Our providers do not stay in-house.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
• Board Certification: Required to be board certified or eligible
• Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) Coverage: Available
• Daily Patient Volume: Approximately 3 patients per day
• Case Logs: 24 months of case logs required

Additional Information:

• The patient volume includes all OB/GYN cases that come to the hospital. Due to the low volume, we only employ one OB/GYN physician. Our competitor employs six OB/GYN physicians, giving them a larger market share and monopoly on OB/GYN care in our community. Some deliveries are unassigned, while others are specific to Dr. Drake's patients.
• OB emergency call coverage is currently managed by two OB/GYN physicians.
• The facility offers Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and perinatal services, including:
  • 7 fully equipped birthing suites
  • 11 private mother/baby postpartum rooms
  • 2 OB-specific operating rooms (in addition to 9 main ORs)
  • A modern safety and security system
  • Educational services for patients
• The facility provides 24-hour in-house anesthesia coverage.
• The facility follows a family-centered approach to provide patients with the highest quality care.
• The monthly delivery number is approximately 10-12.
• The call coverage is for the entire hospital, including L&D and ER departments, but we only have one employed OB/GYN physician.
