Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric CVICU RN with at least one year of level 1 CVICU pediatric experience and current BLS and PALS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a hospital setting
- Care for pediatric cardiovascular patients with complex health needs
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Primary duties include delivering nursing care to pediatric CVICU patients, administering medication, monitoring physiological status, and supporting diagnostic procedures
- Responsible for patient assessments, care planning, and maintaining accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes
- Will participate in family education and discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must be willing to delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- 6-month separation required for returning travelers after 26 weeks of assignment
Requirements
- Active Oklahoma or compact RN license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from AHA required
- Minimum one year of pediatric CVICU experience in a level 1 trauma environment required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Ability to provide culturally competent care and effectively communicate with patients and families
