Anesthesiologist (MD/DO)Position SummaryThe Anesthesiologist is responsible for the perioperative care of patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures requiring anesthesia services. This role includes the evaluation and management of patients before, during, and after anesthesia, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and optimal clinical outcomes.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and risk assessment
Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
Monitor patient vital signs and physiologic status throughout procedures
Manage airway, ventilation, hemodynamics, and fluid balance during anesthesia
Provide post-anesthesia care and pain management
Respond to perioperative emergencies and complications
Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, nurses, and anesthesia care team members
Supervise and provide medical direction to CRNAs, anesthesiology assistants, and trainees as applicable
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and compliance initiatives
Adhere to all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
QualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
Board-eligible or board-certified in Anesthesiology
Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
DEA registration or eligibility
ACLS and BLS certification

Expertise in airway management and anesthetic techniques
Ability to work effectively in high-acuity and time-sensitive environments

Work EnvironmentHospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgery centers, procedural suites, and labor and delivery units
May include on-call, nights, weekends, or holiday coverage depending on practice needs
Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods
Manual dexterity for airway management and procedural tasks
Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient monitoring
