CVICU RN - Akron, OH - Nights available
Requirements:
* 2 years CVICU RN experience
* EPIC EMR experience within the last year
* AHA BLS, ACLS required - NIHSS must be obtained during onboarding
Unit information:
This is a 26-bed cardiac open-heart cardiac thoracic vascular unit. RN MUST have 2+ years of open-heart experience. ACLS/BLS/NIH Required. Recent EPIC experience is required and must be provided on resume within the last year. STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart Failure, Pulmonary Emboli (with right strain) and electro physiology patients. Also overflow for the MICU but most of those patients are respiratory failure patients in case they would require ECMO therapy during their stay. We do a mix of open hearts. Some CABG, some valve, some both. CABG is our biggest open heart patient population. We average 1 open heart a day Monday-Friday. We also take some lung surgeries such as lobectomy, wedge resection, and vats on a case-by-case basis. We do something different here than other hospitals which maintain open hearts until discharge and downgrade as their condition improves. Must be independent in obtaining labs and initiating IVs.
