The role focuses on real-time and near-real-time analytics sourced from Epic’s production environment using Reporting Workbench, RW SQL, Radar dashboards, and related Epic Cogito tools. The Sr. RBA collaborates closely with operational leaders to gather requirements, select appropriate tools, build reports, validate data, and support self-service analytics in Slicer Dicer and Qlik Sense. The position also mentors junior analysts, enforces reporting standards, supports intake prioritization, and assists in migrating legacy tools to modern platforms.

Summary
The Senior Reporting Business Analyst is a key member of the Data & Analytics team, responsible for translating operational reporting needs into actionable solutions. The role focuses on real-time and near-real-time analytics sourced from Epic’s production environment using Reporting Workbench, RW SQL, Radar dashboards, and related Epic Cogito tools. The Sr. RBA collaborates closely with operational leaders to gather requirements, select appropriate tools, build reports, validate data, and support self-service analytics in Slicer Dicer and Qlik Sense. The position also mentors junior analysts, enforces reporting standards, supports intake prioritization, and assists in migrating legacy tools to modern platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop Epic Reporting Workbench reports, RW SQL reports, Radar dashboards, and custom metrics.
- Gather requirements, define report specifications, validate data, and recommend appropriate analytics tools.
- Serve as the main reporting contact for assigned operational areas, ensuring accuracy and alignment with workflows.
- Create and maintain documentation, technical specifications, and end-user training materials.
- Support and educate users on self-service tools including Slicer Dicer, Universes, Cubes, and Qlik Sense.
- Troubleshoot reporting discrepancies, manage intake queues, resolve issues, and meet service-level expectations.
- Mentor junior analysts and enforce reporting standards through code reviews and best practices.
- Contribute to retiring legacy reports (e.g., Crystal) and migrating to Epic RW SQL or Qlik Sense.
- Provide scheduled after-hours support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10 years progressively responsible analytics experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 6 years BI/reporting experience, including at least 2 years building Epic Reporting Workbench reports and Radar dashboards.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, enterprise data management, and production BI support.
- Certifications required within 12 months: Epic Cogito Fundamentals, Cogito Tools Admin, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, and either Clinical or Access Data Model.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with healthcare terminology, workflows, regulatory considerations (HIPAA, DNV, MIPS), and clinical documentation structures.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and support complex projects from start to finish.
- Experience identifying reporting discrepancies, determining data specifications, and aligning solutions with operational workflows.
