Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pre-op / Post Anesthesia Care Manager is responsible for the complete oversight of Tower Recovery Room. The Manager serves as the clinical oversight for AJRI Perianesthesia service. Serves as liaison between staff and administrative personnel to ensure continued departmental standards of care. Works cohesively with Director to develop standards and procedures for providing care and improve quality across the campus and the implementation of those standards. Promotes strong and effective working relationships with other departments within the facility. Responsible for oversight of unit from a budgetary stance as well as maintaining timekeeping system, schedules, and accountability records for direct reports. Works closely with supply chain to manage and control costs. Establishes personnel qualifications requirements, initiates in-service programs, installs record and reporting systems and assess, plans and implements any necessary revision of policies, organizational structure and standards of performance.

What you will do in this role:

• Continually assess and develop performance plans, identify issues, mentor and educate to manage performance and career development of direct reports.
• Approve and contribute to In-service education programs yearly.
• Manage and coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper and safe coverage while maintaining budget requirements.
• Coordinate quality efforts for unit and maintain any company wide goals aligned with the unit.
• Perform daily rounding in unit/s to ensure patient and surgeon satisfaction are met, as well as visually monitoring employee performance.
• Perform monthly rounding with all staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes and employee engagement.
• Investigate, resolve, and document resolution of complaints or incidents concerning patients.
• Maintain knowledge and follow all TJC, CMS requirements.
• Successfully complete annual review and competencies on all employees to ensure that quality of care is embedded into clinical practice on an ongoing basis.
• Continually seek opportunities for performance improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the coordination of Surgical Services QI program through across campus measurement, analysis, and actions to improve services and patient outcomes.
• Maintain systematic data collection and flow of information between post anesthesia care departments and into applicable committees.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.
• Bachelor’s Degree required (or in process of obtaining).
• 3-5 years of related leadership experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• Specialty certification preferred.
