American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position with ICU experience and the ability to float to multiple acute care units.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital environment as a Critical Care Float RN
- Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Float between ICU, Neuro ICU, CVICU, PCU, Med/Surg, and Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed
- Expected to manage varied patient ratios: 1:2-3 in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, 1:5-6 in Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry
- Uses Epic EMR (required), Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00), with every other weekend required
- Floating to multiple units is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Must be comfortable working with a variety of acute care diagnoses and floating to multiple critical care and med/surg units
- Scrub color requirement is navy blue
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed during assignment; none permitted in the first week, and no RTO during Spring Break
- Holiday shifts are required according to assignment period: one if one holiday falls, both if two, and two if three
- Travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit
- No blocked scheduling permitted
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates accepted at same rate
- Active GA or compact RN license in hand
- Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be fully compliant with all onboarding requirements prior to start date
- Returning employees must have been away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 full year
- If previously unable to return to facility, must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
