Key Details:- Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
- Shift Type: Call-only
- Call Requirements: 5-6 days per month of 24-hour call coverage
- Practice Setting: Inpatient care with vascular surgery consultations and procedures
- Assignment Duration: Ongoing with possible extensions through early 2025
- Vascular Surgery Care: Provide expert care for inpatient vascular cases, including surgical procedures and consultative services.
- Inpatient Consultations: The locum will consult on unassigned inpatients requiring vascular surgical interventions.
- Rounding: Vascular surgeon will be required to round on inpatients as needed.
- Collaborative Care: Surgeons will work alongside general surgery PAs, hospitalists, and ICU attendings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Vascular Surgery Procedures: Perform a variety of vascular surgeries and interventions, including bread-and-butter vascular cases.
- Consultations and Admissions: Respond to vascular-related consults and participate in hospital admissions as needed.
- Board Certification: Required in Vascular Surgery. Fellowship training preferred but not mandatory.
- State License: Must hold an active Massachusetts medical license.
- Certifications: BLS certification required.
- EMR System: The facility utilizes Cerner for electronic medical records (experience with Cerner preferred).
- Temporary Privileges: Available for expedited onboarding.
- Patients Per Shift: Estimated 4 patients per shift, with admissions as needed.
- Support Team: General surgery PAs are on-site most of the time to assist with routine care and procedures.
