A board-certified Gastroenterology Physician is needed to provide weekend hospital and clinic coverage performing specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as ERCP, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy. The role requires managing adult patients, utilizing a collaborative team environment with Epic EMR, and maintaining an active Virginia medical license. Weekend shifts from Friday evening to Monday morning are required, with competitive hourly pay and malpractice coverage included.

Job Details:
• Weekend call coverage (Friday 5pm to Monday 7am) needed due to lack of coverage
• Practice setting includes hospital call with adult, hospital, and office/clinic responsibilities
• Perform various required procedures including Esophageal Dilatation/Manometry and interpretation
• Conduct Small Bowel Biopsy, Lower GI Endoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, and Colonoscopy
• Perform Liver Biopsy and Insertion/Management of Sengstaken/Blakemore Tube
• Handle Upper GI Endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices, and banding of varices
• ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) experience required - both diagnostic and therapeutic
• Experience with PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) procedures
• Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) experience preferred
• Average of 8 procedures per weekend including GSI, Hepatology, RGA, Surgery, Colon, EGD, ERCP
• Coverage needed for specific weekend dates in January through June 2024
• Must have active Virginia medical license
• Board certification required
• Current flu shot required and COVID vaccine highly preferred
• Clean malpractice history required for temporary privileges
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days
