MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting systems, and completing repairs across multiple trades, including electrical and carpentry. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining apartment units and common areas to the highest standards, ensuring a positive experience for residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in apartment units, common areas, and building systems, including electrical and carpentry work.
- Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment, appliances, and systems to ensure proper operation and resident safety.
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and work orders to minimize inconvenience.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs to extend the life and efficiency of building systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular property inspections, including apartments, hallways, amenities, and exterior areas, to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for specialized maintenance or repair projects when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Manage a work order pipeline in a facility management platform to track, prioritize, and close maintenance requests efficiently.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with applicable safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Keep maintenance areas, storage rooms, and workspaces clean and organized.
- Collaborate closely with property management and leasing teams to prioritize maintenance needs.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing resident concerns promptly and professionally.
- Report and recommend opportunities for property improvements or upgrades to enhance resident experience.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
- Proficient in electrical and carpentry repair and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and to move heavy materials or equipment as required.
Compensation details: 30-35 Hourly Wage
