The Vascular Access Team (VAT) at Cambridge Health Alliance is a specialized group of highly skilled, board-certified registered nurses who provide expert vascular access services across all inpatient and outpatient settings. Our team is dedicated to delivering safe, efficient, and evidence-based vascular access care that supports optimal patient outcomes and enhances the overall quality of care.
The Vascular Access Nurse (VAN) is a specialized, board-certified registered nurse who provides expert vascular access services across all inpatient and outpatient settings within Cambridge Health Alliance. The VAN demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical proficiency in the insertion, maintenance, and management of vascular access devices, ensuring safe, efficient, and evidence-based care that supports optimal patient outcomes and enhances the overall quality of care.
The VAN collaborates across interdisciplinary teams, providing education, consultation, and leadership in vascular access best practices, infection prevention, and documentation, utilizing patient-centered care.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts RN license. BSN Preferred
Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
Minimum one year of experience with demonstrated IV/vascular access competence required
Vascular Access Insertion certification or Certified Registered Nurse Infusion certification preferred
Prior experience with ultrasound-guided vascular access and use of electronic documentation systems (e.g., EPIC).
