We are seeking a BoardCertified or Board Eligible Neonatology Physician for locum tenens coverage ata 366-bed hospital in Waterloo, IA. This patient-focused facility offersadvanced healthcare services and supports a Level III NICU with a collaborativecare team. The role includes inpatient neonatal care and 24-hour call coverage.
Schedule & CoverageDetails:
- Up to 16 shifts per month
- Shift length: 24-hour shifts
- Patient contact: Approximately 8 hours per shift
- Call: 24-hour call coverage
- Weekends: As needed
Practice Details:
- NICU: 10-bed Level III NICU (capacity up to 12 infants short-term)
- Average Daily Census (ADC): 6.3 patients
- Patient Population: Neonates 28 weeks gestation
- Inpatient responsibilities only
- EMR: Epic
- 366-bed hospital with a strong commitment to patient-centered care
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient neonatal care in the NICU
- Manage and coordinate care for neonatal patients in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Respond to neonatal consults and provide on-call coverage
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in Epic
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Neonatology
- Fellowship trained in Neonatology
- Active Iowa medical license or active IMLC
- Letter of Qualification (LOQ) required at time of name clear
- Ability to provide independent neonatal care in a Level III NICU setting
