American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CT or compact RN license and advanced cardiac ICU expertise.
Responsibilities- Position is in a high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU within a large Level I Trauma Center
- Short term acute care hospital environment
- Patient ratios average 1:2 for both day and night shifts
- Responsibilities include care of complex cardiac and cardiothoracic ICU patients
- Shifts are night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
- Epic EMR is used and experience is preferred
- Primary duties include managing complex CVICU cases and utilizing advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
- First-time travelers accepted if they have cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
- Pre-start modules required and completed prior to beginning assignment
- Up to 7 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, but requests for longer periods require facility approval
- Team expects participation in emergency response or disaster events as needed
- Reference required for consideration
- Scrubs or dress code information not specified
- Active CT or compact RN license or proof of application prior to consideration
- Minimum 3 years of recent cardiac ICU experience required
- At least 1 year of experience in a Level I trauma center required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required
- Proficiency with swan-ganz monitoring required
- Flu vaccination required without declination allowed
- COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless approved for religious or medical exemption
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
- Returning staff must have a 2-year gap before returning as a traveler
