The General Assembly Vehicle Engineering Assistant Manager leads technical assembly efforts for new vehicle launches, ensuring process development, production readiness, and cross-functional collaboration between Korean and U.S. teams. Responsibilities include coordinating supplier activities, developing process documentation, ensuring quality and safety standards, and managing project budgets. The role requires bilingual proficiency in Korean and English, industrial engineering expertise, and experience in production process development.
Serve as the technical lead for general assembly during new vehicle launches, supporting process development, production readiness, and cross-functional collaboration between Korean and U.S. teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assembly engineering activities for new model launches, including equipment installation, supplier coordination, and process implementation.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between Korean engineering teams and local production teams; translate technical documents and meetings as needed.
- Develop assembly process sheets, visual work instructions, and labor standards using MODAPTS.
- Ensure assembly workability, quality, safety, ergonomics, and productivity targets are met.
- Support daily production issues, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional problem solving.
- Manage project budgets, prepare reports, and present updates to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience; 3+ years in production process development.
- Business-level proficiency in English and Korean.
- Strong MS Office skills; domestic and international travel required.
