CLOSED 10.01.2025 Emergency Medicine Physician for Critical Access Hospital, North Carolina We are seeking a dedicated and board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team on a locum basis near Knotts Island, North Carolina. This is a great opportunity to provide essential emergency care at a critical access hospital and make a meaningful impact on the local community. Coverage Dates Needed: October 24: 8 PM - 8 AM November 12: 8 AM - 8 PM November 22, 27, 28: 8 PM - 8 AM Note: A brief orientation is required the day before your first shift. Facility Details: Hospital: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a 9-bed ED Volume: Approximately 16,000 annual ED visits Support: General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and ICU support are available. The facility is Acute Stroke Ready and Joint Commission Certified. Metrics: The average patient load is 21 per day per provider, with an average of 2.1 admissions per day shift and 1 at night. Technology: We use the EPIC EMR system. Transfers: Air and ground support are available for patient transfers. Candidate Requirements: Board Certification: Emergency Medicine Board Certification is preferred. Other Specialties: We will consider Internal Medicine (IM) and Family Medicine (FM) physicians with documented emergency experience.
