American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ER Holding Unit position in Ohio, requiring an OH or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.
Responsibilities- Work in the ER Holding Unit of a hospital setting
- Care for a diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Staffing ratio is 1:4
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Uses telemetry monitoring and Epic EMR
- Manage complex patient cases including telemetry monitoring and critical interventions
- Participate in rapid response, airway management, and coordinated team care
- Locals are accepted for this position
- Former employees must have a minimum 6-month break before eligibility for travel assignment
- Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible
- All planned time off must be included in contract at time of submission
- Urgent fingerprinting process required as part of onboarding
- Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a relevant setting
- Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong skills in telemetry, dysrhythmia management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, and PCU/stepdown care
- Experience with renal failure management, cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration), and blood product administration
- Proficiency with tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, rapid response team, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, Oxygen)
- Epic charting/documentation experience
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, one from a manager, director, or supervisor
